Northeast Florida is blessed with two great bass fishing rivers, the St. Mary's and the Nassau River systems. Both rivers have numerous feeder streams that afford excellent bass fishing as well, particularly the Nassau River. The Nassau River has a multitude of large feeders including the famous bass fishing waters of Lofton and Boggy Creeks.

Also unique to these famous bass rivers, is the likelihood of catching saltwater species including sea trout, redfish, flounder and striped bass where saltwater mixes with freshwater!

The majority of our bass fishing trips depart from the Lofton Creek park and boat ramp, which is only a few minutes ride driving west from Amelia Island on A1A. Your guide will take you on a beautiful boat trip south from the boat ramp where cypress, oak and pine forests greet the fishy banks of the stream.

Some of the best trophy bass action starts in late January when female bass begin to spawn and runs right through the month of May. However bass fishing in these many freshwater rivers is excellent year round.

In most cases, your bass guide will anchor his skiff in a deep bend in the river, or at the mouth of a large feeder creek where you will float live shiners close to the edges of the river bank. Look for bass to weigh over the ten-pound mark!

Our bass guides will also come prepared with a variety of both spinning and casting tackle for those fishermen that prefer to cast bass plugs. Some of the more productive bass lures in these bass streams include dark colored plastic worms, white spinner baits and topwater plugs.
